Book Synopsis

He conquered an empire, and she’s next.

Despite conquering a powerful throne, Emperor Drocco wants an omega.

Tales of their beauty and submissiveness convince him that he must have his own, but omegas disappeared over 100 years ago.

When he enlists a beautiful, willful historian to help him, their attraction is instant. Yet she agitates him in a way no other has. He aches to dominate her, to force her to respect him. But he can’t jeopardize his goal.

So, he harbors his dark desire and waits.

As an omega spy, Cailyn’s mission seemed simple: pretend to be an innocent historian, protect omega secrets, and under no circumstances draw his attention. She never expected to meet the ruthless emperor himself.

Savage and dominant, with rugged good looks, he is the most intolerable male she’s ever encountered.

He rarely leaves her side, inflicting his bold arrogance, heated gaze, and alpha dominance in a way that infuriates her.

Yet his intense attraction captivates her in a way she cannot resist.

Cailyn tries to withstand his growing obsession, but everything changes one night when her cover is ripped away.

And everything turns to sinful desolation.

Buy now and jump straight into this sinful, angsty journey. For fans of faithful alpha anti-heroes and captive romances. Cliffhanger included however this series is complete. Includes dark romance situations. See author website for full warnings.

    It’s abusive, not romantic

Zoe Ellis’ Crave to Conquer is an amazing first installment to this series. Leading characters Drocco and Cailyn are wonderful and well written. The story has great character building and sizzling scenes. This is my first book by Zoe Ellis and now she has been added to my list of favorite authors. Drocco and Cailyn’s story is so compelling their characters captivated me in the first chapter. The author gave life and meaning to each character and surroundings that I couldn’t wait to see each chapter unfold. I love a good Alpha series and Zoe has hit a home run with this installment. Highly recommending reading this series.

If you are sensitive about “rape” or forceful, domination sex. Then this may not be for you. I have read all three books of the trilogy and by the second book going in to the third EVERYTHING makes since. Is Drocco forceful and mean sometimes absolutely. But, once you learn more about the world and everyone as a character it really is a great book. I have also read the other six books and I have to say out of all the men Drocco is my favorite.
  • Consent is a real thing, people!

I’m going to go out on a limb and say this author has no clue about consent. This book is raping, raping all the time. And even the scenes without the violence and torture are filled with coercion and a lack of consent which, you guessed it, is still sexual assault. It’s almost as if this author forgot she planned to call this a romance. The male lead is one dimensional with zero redeeming features and the female lead is barely a step above that. He’s all about finding the women with the special pheromones that make men like him super hot. She’s all about making sure the guys who find her special pheromones super hot can never locate women like her. There’s no learning, no discovery, no character growth... and when she finally escapes her captor (and rapist) her superiors’ response is to suggest a mind wipe before she returns to her “mate” so she doesn’t accidentally reveal their location. Seriously?!?!!! I’m going to be sick.
  • Could have been better written

There is a right way and a wrong way to write Alpha/Omega books. The author went the route of using abuse and rape while trying to spin it as romance. I did not agree with this direction. If this type of topic material is not for you, then I’d advise against reading.

Page turner! I couldn’t put it down. Great story line, world building , and excellent detail makes this tale epic. Drocco , an Alpha emperor finds his true mate but can’t figure her out but they are both so stubborn. He uses their sexual chemistry to bond them together. Cailyn is an Omega spy who fights hard not to fall for her man. Magic, mystery, and deceit are everywhere. Hot sexy times as well as true intimacy puts this into a fantastic category of its own. Some may be hard to read but to see both sides of the story it makes sense. I cannot wait to finish the series.
  • Rape warning

You can either find the premise romantic or insulting. Either way, you can't deny that she was raped with torture (via the bulb) as a means to gather intelligence. Then she was groomed, using her own anatomy against her. What happens is aberrant, disgusting & for the 1/3 of women who have been raped in their lifetime, it may be a book you want to avoid. That some ppl say their relationship is romantic... Ugh. I have read a similar theme where "heat" lasted one day, not seven, which was treated in a much more sensitive manner. You can have both sexuality as well as show the ugliness, not confuse and/or combine the two. I'd avoid this book.

I’m new to the Omegaverse world and I have to say from the few I’ve read, this one is my favorite. The Male/Female Alpha/Omega bond is incredible and the connection between the two characters just jumps right off the pages. This book isn’t for the faint of heart. It’s gritty and amazing and you can’t put it down. THere’s a cliffhanger, but the story is still really well told. It just leaves me wanting more. Drocco, the male Alpha finds his Omega, not originally realizing it was her. She fights the bond she doesn’t realize she’s already created with him. I’m dying to see what happens in book 2! If you enjoy the dark side of romance and attraction, this is a fantastic book. Not the sweet romance of boy plus girl = house in the suburbs! :) Much more dark chocolate meets a 100 year old scotch.
