When I first started reading The Amorphous Horror and saw the reference to the Holocaust in the beginning pages , I stopped reading. The horrific atrocities associated with that time in history makes me sad, angry and confused all at the same and I did not want to read anything that would add to my feelings of dismay. But I gave it another chance and I am really glad that I did. The storyline was clear but what I liked most was the tale of the “golem” I had never heard of that myth and to see it come to life in the story captivated me and made me want to search out other stories surrounding the myth on my own. The only thing that I was unclear about was how did the amorphous creature come to be in the basement of the grandfather’s house and why he was there, but I figured out the 2nd part as I typed this review which made wish that the book was a little longer. But sometimes less is more. I do recommend reading this book and as well the other “Morbid Tales” books (4 more) I bought those too. I haven’t read all 4 of them yet, but after reading this one, I just know the rest will be just as entertaining and awesomely as well. Another fabulous short read by this author that I could not put down! I love these quick reads that are morbidly fascinating! I love the author's writing style and the story caught me up in the beginning and kept me wanting more. Good thing there are more! Can hardly wait for the next book!
