From beginning to end. Well written, well told. One of my favorite reads of the last 3 years.

Don’t worry the bad reviews. This is an excellent book. The writer won’t win any writing awards, but the story itself is very compelling. The book is heavily redacted but not so much so that lose track of what’s going on. The author wrote the book and that had to submit it to CIA and military reviewers who redacted a bunch of stuff. At that point, the author can’t do a rewrite to try to eliminate the redacted sections because he would have to resubmit the new version to the reviewers again and no doubt they would be different people who would redact a bunch of new stuff.
  • Terrible Book

Shortly after reading sample and paying for it got even worse. The mystique author trying to create with blanks and omissions is ridiculous and then he just rants on about public information. Absolute worst book I've ever purchased from iBooks.

The book is interesting and engaging but it feels like every sentence is cut in half with redactions

A total waste of time. Reads as if written by an 18 yr old frat boy. Boastful ridiculous claims (sure, you were first Pasto speaker in Afg). Immature nonsense about his woman killing skills and general superiority in all things. Friends at the Agency tell me he was generally regarded as a joke and a mistake recruitment. It does worry me the Agency would recruit someone with a personality so ill suited to covert work and so inclined to crave recognition and "tell all". I suppose in the past 9-11 haste, mistakes were made.
  • Ridiculous redactions.

Although I'm sure it's intended to be dramatic, the constant use of black redaction bars is distracting and frustrating. If you can't tell the story, then don't.
