It wasn’t a bad story, but did skip over a lot of it. Jacie was not my favorite leading lady.
  • Really loved this story!

Love lost and love found and all the trials in between is what this story is about. Ups and downs, hot cowboys, and confused women as well as an evil step father make this an interesting love story.
  • Great story

So much of this book seems like to could have really happened. The story was good and the love scenes were tasteful. Really enjoyed it.

It takes 3/4 of the book to actually hit the climax of the story. It fell a little flat. Has all the elements of a great love story with very little bravado for readers to stay interested.

Jacie & Brett are great & you can’t blame Jacie for being protective of her daughter. A sweet romance with a HEA ending.

This novel reminded me of days gone by when my daughter loves and lived horses. Her Saturdays were spent going to horse shows along with her Grandfather and Aunt. An author's writing talent is when they can leave us with such good thoughts and feelings while and after reading their work. This novel did that for me.

Jeannie has given us another good Sweetheart story. There is a bit of action, twists and turns. This starts in the past. Jacie had to leave to save herself and left her best friend behind. Forward and Jacie is coming home with her daughter, Darby, who is 9 and loves horses. Brett finds they live beside him and his sister Megan and her horse ranch. Jacie is now an engineering contractor who is to rework the Hotel in town. She meets the problem that made her run. Her stepfather the Mayor. Major Spoiler! He is rotten to the core and tries to ruin her reputation. There are lots of problems solved between Jacie and Brett. Darby gets to ride horses. The mayor gets his comeuppance. You need to check out this book and see how it ends. It is a quick read or at least feels like one. Please choose to read this story! I volunteered to read and review this book.

"The Secret Bride" by Jeannie Watt is book five in the "Cherry Lake Montana" series. This can be read as a standalone. This is Jacie Rose and Brett Jackson's story. Ten years ago Brett had agreed to marry Jacie to help her out with a problem. Jacie didn't show and disappeared. Brett has never forgotten her. Now, Jacie is back in Cherry Lake with her daughter to renovate a historic hotel plus deal with some unfinished business. Jacie and Brett cross paths after ten long years. As they get reacquainted one thing for sure is there is no lack of chemistry between them. Jacie is determined to give her daughter a secure home life that she didn't have. So, there is no room for a man in her life or is there? I really enjoyed the story. At times I did get frustrated with Jacie being so afraid to take a chance on love. I loved Brett's character. He was fun, romantic, and loving. I received a copy of this book from Tule Publishing for an honest review. FYI, contains mature content.

Love the Secrets of Cherry Lake. Jacie has returned home to Cherry Lake after ten years of being away. She is over seeing the renovations on the hotel. She left home pregnant and leaving her best friend, Brett at the courthouse alter. Upon return home, she finds out that Brett is her neighbor. The sparks are still there, but Jacie is afraid to let her guard down for her daughter's sake. Jacie also needs to deal with her demons, her stepfather. A great page turner, that you can read in one afternoon. This is the fifth book in the series, but all can be read as stand alones. I am so hoping for more books in this series. I received this boo from Netgalley fro an honest review.
