  • Good story but there’s issues

    Pretty interesting plot that kept me interested the whole time. The whole book felt like one long episode of criminal minds so if you’re into that, give this a try. Unfortunately, It wasn’t written great. Some grammar errors like wrong forms of “there” and distracting writing (using the word “frowned” multiple times per page) or so much repetition in unnecessary details. I did like the characters and it was a pretty easy read. Probably will not pick up the series, but for a free book I enjoyed it.

    This woman is the most unoriginal author I’ve ever bothered with. If you watch ANY popular crime drama, you’ll be hit in the face with identical plot lines. I can’t believe I paid money for this garbage when I already have a Netflix subscription.

  • Great Stories, Poor Editing

    Ms James has a real talent for telling stories. They are descriptive, thoughtful, and full of wonderfully complex characters. Unfortunately, I gave only 3 stars because the lack of editing is horrible (otherwise, I would have given 5). Poor grammar, punctuation, and simple errors results in difficult - and at times tedious - reading. I just finished book 15 and it has not improved. I will continue on with the series because I enjoy it. However, I do not see myself starting any of her other series unless editing had happened.

    While I enjoyed the book overall the fact that it was stated many times that one cannot scream without a tongue I became bothered and distracted. Enough that I had to stop reading at the moment to write this review.

    The book was hard to get through, and I gave up about halfway when nothing had happened yet. The protagonist explains the same things over and over, and although the topic sounds like it would be fascinating it reads more like a history lesson than a murder mystery.

    This is a extremely good book. if you’re into the twisted physiclogical crime books. than this is the book for you. hadena james is a very talented author.
