Summoned to Pluto by a distress call, a patrol ship stumbles into a brutal attack by alien invaders on the human population that has settled there. The invaders are eventually repelled, but it is clear that they will be back. A team of scientists races against the clock to develop weapons to defeat the aliens when they inevitably return.
