Book Synopsis

By early 1945, the destruction of the German Nazi State seems certain. The Allied forces, led by American generals George S. Patton and Dwight D. Eisenhower, are gaining control of Europe, leaving German leaders scrambling. Facing defeat, Adolf Hitler flees to a secret bunker with his new wife, Eva Braun, and his beloved dog, Blondi. It is there that all three would meet their end, thus ending the Third Reich and one of the darkest chapters of history.

Hitler's Last Days is a gripping account of the death of one of the most reviled villains of the 20th century—a man whose regime of murder and terror haunts the world even today. Adapted from Bill O'Reilly's historical thriller Killing Patton, this book will have young readers—and grown-ups too—hooked on history.

This thoroughly-researched and documented book can be worked into multiple aspects of the common core curriculum.

Disappointed. Many chapters duplicated verbatim from Killing Patton or vice versa. Already paid for and read those chapters, don’t want to pay for and read twice.kms4115

I have enjoyed all of Bills books till now. This book was repetitive, for instance the discovery of the loot in the salt mines is discussed in two different parts of the book....no insight. No more for Bill.

As always Bill' book is spot on. Concise and action packed. Recommend this book for all to read and learn.

This is like reading a high school condensed version of this period during World War II. It has no passion, no dramatic tension, and is casual to the point of breeziness. The men and women who fought to save the world from the scourge of Naziism deserve more than this. So many books do a much greater job of reporting and analyzing the WWII events. This reads like the author made a list and Googled for content. This is a mess.

I've read almost all of Bill O'Reilly's work and find him entertaining and informative. Hitler's Last Days fell short of the mark. There was too much focus on the Allies and their maneuvering and not enough on the man. I expected a deeper dive on Hitler. Also, it felt like there was considerable overlap between this book and Killing Patton (which was significantly better). Not his best but won't prevent me from reading his other books.

A good high school student could have wrote this book based on the depth of research done for this book. I recommend you pass on this

This book is basic at best. It reads like a summary of more thorough book by Anthony Beevor. Not worth it. Very disappointing.
