    This book has an unusual twist for its start in our current times with elements that are indicative of ranch life in the 1800s rather than 2015. However, for the most part it works and kept me reading. It had good elements of danger and the men of the family are strong, caring traditional characters. The surprise ending was an interesting twist...I would have liked to see the storyline with the ex-boyfriend turning up on the ranch go a little differently but it worked. I can see foreshadowing of what might happen when her sister comes of age on the ranch so will look toward the other books to see that potential story. I think I shall try to see if I can find this author's books in my local library.
