CHAPTER 2 Stranded opened his eyes and tiredly stood up. His scales on his back were aching from the rain hitting them the previous night. He joined Crescent at the edge of the cave they were hiding in. Stranded had previously escaped the SandWing palace to find a new life and had gotten lost in the rain. “Do you know anything about a stolen NightWing egg?” Crescent blurted out. “No. Why?” Stranded asked her. “Nevermind,” she said. Stranded shrugged and twitched his scorpion-like tail. He shook his wings and got ready for flight. “So. Where are you going anyway?” Stranded thought about this. Obviously, my new home! “I-… I…” he trailed off. “I don’t know,” he replied. He had been so feather-brained, he had never even thought where he was going to go! “You could always come with me. You know, to find my siblings?” “Yeah. I could do that!” Stranded exclaimed. “Come with me, we’ll go the way I saw them fly off,” Crescent said. Stranded flapped his wings and took off behind her. He looked around as they brushed through the air. He had never seen much outside the castle, it all looked so new and amazing. He looked behind him at the SandWing castle and spat. He closed his eyes and listened to the beating of his wings hitting the air like drums. He tried to match Crescent's pace and fly faster. Suddenly, he heard a loud ‘err-kawh!’ He looked up at a large eagle, who was flying straight down at him. He dodged to the left and shouted a warning to Crescent. The eagle clawed at his back scales, and he tried to shake it off. He knew that if he turned around to grab it he might lose his balance or the eagle might scratch open his soft stomach scales. He thrust his tail above him, but the eagle flew around it and ripped off one of his back scales. He let out a yelp, jabbed his tail into the eagle’s stomach and shook it off into the depths. He started to slow and he couldn’t focus his eyes correctly. He felt his scales burning on his back and his bruises stinging on his tail. He gave his wings a final flap before he fell into the depths, prepared for immense pain as he hit the rocks below him, and he passed out. “Stranded? Stranded! Wake up!” Crescent demanded. Stranded gasped and opened his eyes as Crescent looked down at him. “I thought I was dead!” He exclaimed. Crescent narrowed her eyes at him like he just said he thought Z was the first letter of the alphabet. “You weren’t dead, you stupid bat-brain,” she said and flicked him with his tail. Stranded looked around and saw bright shrubs and beautiful trees with extraordinary flowers hanging off them. “Where… where did you bring us?” He questioned her. Crescent raised her head and looked around, then back down to Stranded and shrugged. Stranded stood up and shook his wings. He flinched as his numb scales took into action. “Jeez, that eagle really did a number on me!” He complained. “Shuddup,” Crescent said and put her talons over Stranded’s mouth. Stranded forced her claws off. “I know I was annoying, but no need to get all fussy and serious about it!” “No. Shut up,” she repeated. Suddenly Stranded jumped as he heard a swish fshew in the surrounding trees. His scales bristled and he impatiently tapped his claws against the grassy floor. He bared his teeth, ready for a fight. A tealish-green dragon jumped out of the bushes and flapped their wings. Stranded let out a battle cry and dove at the brightly colored dragon and only realized how small they were when he bit into their wing. Their scales flashed light orange and waves of green flowed through their tail and face. He let go of the dragonet and it screeched in alarm. Strange purple liquid shot out of her front fangs and Stranded dove out of the way, though he didn’t know what it was. Better safe than sorry, he thought. The strange spit brushed the top of Crescent's head and she bellowed in pain. “Three moons, I’m so sorry! Are you ok?” The small dragon squeaked and ran over to the purple NightWing. She whipped out some bandages and offered to help her. First Crescent pulled back hesitantly but then nodded and put her head forward. “Why did you attack me?” The dragon asked after she finished wrapping Crescent's head. “Well in my defense I didn’t know who you were!” Stranded interjected. “And to be honest, I still don’t,” he added. “Oh, okay. I’m Princess Luck of the RainWings. And for the record, attacking a princess isn’t the best thing you could do.” The miniature dragon said, now fading back into a sort of light blue. “RainWing…?” Crescent said unknowingly. “You don’t know RainWings? The beautiful tribe that lives in the Rainforest Paradise?!” Luck exclaimed, dropping her bandages. “Well I’ve been living in a cave my whole life. And you’ve I guess been living here for your whole life, which is like how long? Two years?” Crescent asked her. “Two years?!” She said, with a baffled expression. Her mint scales quickly shifted to a swirl of acid green, dull green, and a middle green. “I’m seven! Wow. You guys are very polite to the future queen,” Luck observed. “Don’t you have, like, other sisters?” Crescent asked her. Luck’s scales shifted into purple, white, and blue. Her smile faltered and she flicked her long tail uncomfortably. “What happened?” Crescent asked her. “I- I had two sisters. I was hatched with my mother, Queen Lichen. My two sisters hatched after me, Trust and Sloth. When we were about five years old, Sloth’s wing ripped on a branch. She had to stay with my mother the whole time, until night when she got to sleep by herself. Sloth was reckless, I tell you. She was crazy, she would jump from tree to tree to tree every day, that’s how she ripped her wing. One night she… she went out when she was not supposed to. She was trying to fly down on a Papaya hanging on a low branch and bring it the next morning for a surprise breakfast.…” Luck caught her breath before carrying on, tears rising in her eyes.

I've only read up to Moon Rising and I've not heard of them use bf or gf, so I've always just like awkwardly put partner or crush for my OCs 😅 but that's helpful! • Shimmer •

I see a lot of people saying mate when they refer to their oc’s romantic partner and I don’t have a problem with that and think its cute, but in case some of you were confused its canon that in the books dragons use the concept of boyfriend and girlfriend instead of “mate” this is canon and has been mention in several books of the series Have a great day and BYYEE!!!

Ok, Oc time! 1: Name: papaya Tribe; rainwings Gender: male Age: 7 Appearance: orange rainwing with green wings and belly, shirt claws, very slim , bad posture , changes red when scheming, very sneaky laugh, has purple ear flap things. ( like glory on the cover) Job: he is a dragonet so he doesn’t have one, he dose want the be the queens mate one day so he can overthrow her, but that’s not gonna work because only girls can be the Queen, but the others don’t want to spoil his fun so they don’t tell him Personality: ohhhh boy, he is very scheming and wants to rule Priya one day! He is very cunning, and clever. Stubborn, he always makes up “genius” plans, kinda rude, he is very loyal, and doesn’t abandon his friends , has a secret crush on Starfruit, afraid to tell her, very prideful, and is cute when he tries to be tough. Mate: he has a crush on Starfruit ( straight) Zodiac: Scorpio ♏️ Death: fell in volcano during a battle with rouge skywings 2: Name: swamp Tribe: mudwings Gender: male Age: 10 Appearance: a large mud wing with scales that are the color of marsh, long snout, and beige eyes, clunky claws, stubby feet, short Wings, and big grin, he looks like a stubby clay with a different scale color. Personality: pretty lazy, very easygoing, gets upset easy, and loves to sleep, he is very kind, and loves his friends, but can sometimes sweat the small stuff and not care about the big stuff. ( papaya scares him) Mate: Shimmer ( straight) Zodiac: Leo ♌️ 3: Name: Starfruit Tribe; rainwings Gender: female Age: 8 Appearance: a bright mix of lime green, and bright yellow head , yellow feet and belly, green wings and scales, small blue eyes, two small horns on her snout, and shirt claws Job: none Personality: bubbly, bouncy, sweet, and fun. She’s kind, and loves her friends, she’s very excitable and can sometimes be a tad annoying. She’s an optimist and always looks on the bright side she’s also very good at cheering people up, And can never stop talking. Mate: she’s likes petunias cousin, melon. Job: none Personality: he is mute, so he can’t talk, shy, but brave, and a good fighter. He often makes faces to show his mood, or opinion on the situation. Mate: Dewdrop ( straight? Maybe?) CHAPTER TWO PART ONE “Principal FireForger! Look out!” ScarSoarer screamed as he lunged to catch the knife. He caught the knife so close to the principal’s near the he could feel the fear radiating from the principal. Everyone started screaming in panic, trying to get outside the school halls. But everyone that tried to ended up screaming with pain or dead. ‘What the-‘ is all he could think before a knife splintered in to his body. He screamed with pain and fear, and dropped to the floor, blood everywhere. He pulled the knife out of his leg and a sharp pain flew through his body. Another knife plunged into his claw, cutting it straight off. He screamed with pain and found a dragon with green scaled with another knife in hand about to plunge it into his body. At the last second, he leaped out of the way, barely scratched by the knife. He grabbed the knife that cut his claw off and threw the StealthWing into a headlock, knife over neck. “Who sent you here?!” He ordered at the green dragonet. He could feel her heartbeat getting faster and faster. “I’m not telling that to a dragon from a different tribe!” She yelled back. “That’s not wise,” he said as he dug the knife even deeper into her scales. “Or you’ll be just another corpse.” She realized that and spoke up. “Queen EarthShaker sent me.” She spat. “That’s all I’m going to tell you.” Just then, Queen TearFlinger burst through the doors of the school, a look of rage smeared on her face. “WHO ARE YOU?! KILLING MY OWN DRAGONS?!” The Queen roared as she entered the school. “She’s over here!” ScarSoarer yells back to the Queen. “It was an assassin trying to camouflage like a teacher!” The Queen roared again as she flew into the room, grabbed the StealthWing by the throat and slamming her into the floor, with full strength. “WHY ARE YOU HERE!?” The Queen demanded at the shivering green dragon. “Order from my Queen.” She croaked out, barely even able to speak. The Queen roared with fury again and threw to StealthWing at one of the walls. “STRAIGHT TO THE DUNGEON TO YOU, MISS ASSASSIN!” She roared in the StealthWing’s face. “Wow.” ScarSoarer said, looking at the Queen who had steam flowing out of her nose. The principal then walked into the room, saw what was happening, and turned away, walking away from the door. “You’re Welcome!” ScarSoarer shouted at the principal. He seemed to turn around, realize what he had done to save him, and said back, “Thank you!” ‘Well, that’s the 2nd ambush this week.’ ScarSoarer thought. ‘First one at a school, though.’ “And as for you, ScarSoarer.’ The Queen said, her menacing eyes turning to relief, “Thank you for stopping her from killing any more dragons. We’ll send you to the healers. Thank you once again.” She said, giving him a smile. ‘Wait WHAT?!’ He thought, almost bursting out those same words. ‘She barely ever smiles at dragons! How did I do anything to deserve that?!’ He kept having those same questions in his head through the whole flight to the healers. But that’s also the first time he realized, ‘There’s going to be more.’ Next chapter in the next book
