I usually prefer writing short stories to reading them, which I know makes very little sense. Nevertheless, I really enjoyed Forgotten Lyrics. I have been a fan of Amanda's since I first read the Trylle series and I am admittedly hooked on her work. As an aside, if any of you ever have a chance to go to one of her events, I strongly encourage it! My husband and I made it to one on our honeymoon and she was so gracious about answering everyone's questions, from topics about successful self-publishing to questions about her stories. But to get back on topic about this short story, I really enjoyed Wake and found Forgotten Lyrics to be particularly enjoyable because I had, to be truthful, forgotten all about Aggie and had always been intrigued about Daniel's past. This story felt almost like an Easter Egg in a movie... The little extra perk to paying close attention to the information that is made available about a story and set of characters that you love. My only qualm with this piece of work was that I found a couple of typos, but unlike a lot of people, it doesn't really bother me that badly. Ms. Hocking: you've done it again! I can't wait to read Lullaby!
