Omg, this thing plods along so horribly. Six plots crammed in one book, all of them boring. Last time I waste money on this drivel.

This book was uncomfortable for me in many ways because I am an overweight woman. I am clinically obese. Thankfully, I am blessed with a husband that loves me thin, thick, & all in between, never uttering a negative word about my weight. I’m blessed to have family & friends who love me for who I am & not what size I am. It was gratifying to read that for Marley & Georgia, they were eventually able to learn to love themselves, not based on their weight. When they learned their value, good things started to happen in their lives. Everybody has something about themselves that they stress over. For many of us, it’s weight, but everybody has something they struggle with.

This book, for me, has given me a whole new outlook on life. I too, am not a small woman and have battled with weight issues my whole life. This story gives a boost of confidence that I didn’t think I needed and I’m grateful I took the time to read it. I may be a hopeless romantic but I do believe good things happen when you least expect it. Thank you for such a spectacular, truthful and relatable story. Fantastic.

This book has an incredible truth to it... there are so many women who need to read this book. I loved it, and it will stay with me for a long time. And if you are worried by the reviews that it’s just a deep book without romance, let me assure you:) Read it!

Good Luck With That is indescribably poignant. Written with a truth seldom seen, this novel needs to be shared with everyone. It gives voice to the pain all of us have had at one time or other, or still have. This isn’t a light hearted read, but one which can bring reflection....if you let it.

I don’t usually write reviews, but this book is based on a subject I struggle and deal with everyday, body image. Many of you won’t want to read it because it is a “romance” novel, and yes, there are some happy endings, but, take a chance. The characters aren’t 5’4”, 120 lbs., blonds. They are real women, at real sizes, dealing with real issues and struggles. You may be surprised. Kristan Higgins treats this very timely issue with sensitivity, powerful insight, and yes, sometimes humor. So very well written.

If this isn’t Kristan’s usual type of book, that’s OK. Although, I think her books have been getting deeper. (Not everyone getting an HEA, but maybe more, it’ll be ok.) To be fair, even her flat out comedies have a lot of truth and her characters typically have true-to-life struggles and personalities. This book deals with weight. Specifically, the struggles women (and some men) have to see themselves truly, not just critically. It also deals with crossing the line to real weight problems and what people go through, how they get there, and that, yes, they still have worth and plenty offer. Often felt we judge people instantly for weight issues, but addictions, infidelity, abusiveness, and so on, may get a pass because we can’t necessarily see those issues when we’re working with people or as neighbors, and sometimes even our friends. Thanks, Kristan. I’m a serious fan, but this book is stellar! Lots of laughs and tears, too. I ate it up. 🙂 Just couldn’t put it down. Probably one of the best books I’ve ever read.

I am not use to this kind of story from this author. Other reviews warned me in advance that it was different. Her other books certainly made me laugh more, although the bunny part was quite funny. Because of the topic I won’t call it my favorite. However, it was one of the most honest and well written books I have read in forever. The friendship of the three women, their family dynamics, their love interests were not something you read about very often. But in your heart you know them to be true to life. Tissues will be needed.
