Book Synopsis

From New York Times bestselling author Kendall Ryan comes a second chance romance about a hotshot quarterback and the one girl who isn't falling for his game.

I broke her heart ten years ago and left town.

She hates me, and rightly so. It doesn’t matter that the rest of the country loves me, that I’m a starting quarterback with a multimillion-dollar contract. Because when I look in the mirror, all I see is a failure who was too young—and too afraid—to fight for what I wanted.

But I’m not that guy anymore, and all I need is one shot to convince her.

***
He has no idea what happened after he left. And now I’m supposed to work alongside him like we don’t have this huge, messy history?

But I’m older now, wiser, and I won’t let anything stand in my way of doing a good job for this league. Not even one overpaid, arrogant player who thinks we’re going to kiss and make up.

News flash, buddy: I am over you.

Second chances, sometimes thirds, are all it takes when you’re meant to be. Fell in love with this story, now that it’s paid for, I’ll most likely read it again 🥰

I love sports romance but Football is my absolute favorite and Kendall did it right, just as she always does! My only regret is that I would’ve read this before I read Finding Alexei! I didn’t even pay attention to the fact that they went together until I started “Dear Jane” and realized that Alex was Alexei...and he was still single. I would definitely recommend reading this before you read Finding Alexei but I don’t think it’s the end of the world if you do things backwards like I do LOL I loved Jane from the very beginning but to be honest, Wes has to work a bit to win my support (not to mention my heart ♥️) “You were the first girl I ever loved...I want you to be the last girl I ever love too.”

Ok. So this book ended up being really good, but after the "break-up" text by Weston, I kinda lost all faith in him. Jane had a great head on her shoulders and I absolutely loved her. Weston's recovery was really nice. But for me it was a bit too late. I would have walked away. Luckily for Weston, Jane made the decision, not me. Weston totally wrecked Jane. He left her, again. I don't think I'd forgive him twice, much less three times. But they worked well together. I ended up really liking Weston. I guess you could say he redeemed himself. Though to me he was a bit of a coward. But enough with the ugly. I ended up really liking this book. There was no drama but there was turmoil. I enjoyed the premise of the story. I enjoyed the plot. I liked the dialogue, it was really good. I liked Weston and Jane's interactions. I enjoyed their intimate moments. I loved the epilogue. It really brought the story together.

Wes sure got over the fact he caused janes miscarriage fast! The author skipped all the emotional stuff with miscarriages. Saying sorry once doesn’t heal old wounds or solve grieving!! This book does miscarriages disgracefully! I wish I didn’t spend my money on this garbage. The author just tried to get the story done, no context or pausing. Literally tired of books with arrogant, hypocrite, alpha type guys who judge the girl for having fun and relationships. Yet the girl NEVER judges or treats the guy with judgement, jealousy or anger. Such typical double standards 🙄

Is there such a thing as a third chance romance? Cuz, really it’s not quite a second chance romance. Wes and Jane were sweethearts in high school. College and Wes’ actions are what breaks them apart. Who would have thought 10yrs later Wes would end up playing professional football for the very team Jane works for. But Wes makes some not so smart moves. And Jane, a woman who LOVES football... she has to end up with Wes... Right? Truly is a good book, don’t have to be a football lover to enjoy it. It’s not my favorite book from Ms. Ryan, but that said, I’m still anxious to get Alex’s book.

If anyone is from Chicago, you’ll know that the Hawks are a hockey team. The author or editor should have caught that. Their mistake was made on the first couple of pages, which was enough for me not to continue to read.
