Book Synopsis

“Sophie Love's ability to impart magic to her readers is exquisitely wrought in powerfully evocative phrases and descriptions….FOR NOW AND FOREVER is the perfect romance or beach read, with a difference: its enthusiasm and beautiful descriptions offer an unexpected attention to the complexity of not just evolving love, but evolving psyches. It's a delightful recommendation for romance readers looking for a touch more complexity from their romance reads.”
--Midwest Book Review (Diane Donovan)

“FOR NOW AND FOREVER is a very well written novel, describing the struggle of a woman (Emily) to find her true identity. The author did an amazing job with the creation of the characters and her description of the environment. The romance is there, but not overdosed. Kudos to the author for this amazing start of a series that promises to be very entertaining.”
--Books and Movies Reviews, Roberto Mattos

Emily Mitchell, 35, living and working in New York City, has struggled through a string of failed relationships. When her boyfriend of 7 years takes her out for their long-awaited anniversary dinner, Emily is sure that this time will be different, that this time she will finally get the ring.

When he gives her a small bottle of perfume instead, Emily knows the time has come to break up with him—and for her entire life to have a fresh start.

Reeling from her unsatisfying, high-pressure life, Emily decides she needs a change. She decides on a whim to drive to her father’s abandoned home on the coast of Maine, a sprawling, historic house where she’d spent magical summers as a child. But the house, long-neglected, is in dire need of repair, and the winter is no time to be in Maine. Emily hasn’t been there in 20 years, when a tragic accident changed her sister’s life and shattered her family. Her parents divorced, her father disappeared, and Emily was never able to bring herself to step foot in that house again.

Now, for some reason, with her life reeling, Emily feels drawn to the only childhood place she ever knew. She plans on going just for a weekend, to clear her head. But something about the house, its numerous secrets, its memories of her father, its oceanfront allure, its small-town setting—and most of all, its gorgeous, mysterious caretaker—doesn’t want to let her leave. Can she find the answers she’s been looking for here, in the most unexpected place of all?

Can a weekend become a lifetime?

FOR NOW AND FOREVER is book #1 in the debut of a dazzling new romance series that will make you laugh, make you cry, will keep you turning pages late into the night—and will make you fall in love with romance all over again.

Book #2 is also now available!

This was an excellent read. The main character was really great. Leaving New York, her job and her friends. Took on a vacant family home, that needed work, .fell in Love and gained the friendship of the townspeople and created a way to open a business and refurbish the Home she remembered as a young girl into a wonderful B & B. Thank You

Emily goes back to a small town she went with her parents as a child to the house her father bought. There she meets Daniel and together they bring the old house back to its beautiful self. An excellent story line showing courage and love. The characters are perfect and the story line leaves you wanting more…..
  • Could’ve been great, but ended up frustrating

The premise of the book was good, but the execution of the plot was not. There were many details overlooked and holes in the plot made things seem unrealistic. After months or years, Daniel and Emily manage to be surprised by a hidden BALLROOM in the house, and a hidden SWIMMING POOL in the barn. By the end of the book Emily still hardly knows anything about Daniel. Emily arrives in Maine seemingly unprepared for winter weather, but she came with all of her suitcases from New York! I was rooting for Emily to stay and open the B&B, but really…it isn’t even her house! What happened to her father?!

I got frustrated with the main character. She throws her shoes out of the car, has no coat going to Maine in winter, drives a car for 8+ hours that is a clunker and been in storage for years, doesn’t eat for days, etc. Very frustrating. What happened to her father? I was hoping for an answer.
  • Hate too,!!

It’s was so boring .. the two main characters have no chemistry . Then 6 month later ? We never hard the ex again ? Then she sleep with Daniel . Then book skip to the next chapter? It never explain what happened to the father . The covers is misleading.

This story leaves you with hope, inspiration and motivation. As a romance novel it is not just about two people falling in love and living happily ever after, it’s about so much more. It’s about letting go of an unfulfilling life for personal liberation, gratification, and owning your own happiness despite the many obstacles that life brings and never giving up on what’s worthwhile. I finished this story in one day and although it’s an easy read it is not without its pivotal moments that keep you wanting to know what happens next.
  • Too many unbelievable situations

This book had potential but like other reviews I also was annoyed but unbelievable situations. She’s barefoot driving in a blizzard? Where is an old man going at midnight? She gets so angry at the littlest things I don’t know why Daniel keeps coming back! I can’t believe I finished it.

I loved the setting, the characters, and the story, but I guess I’m just a stickler for accuracy and there were a couple of places where the writer must have forgotten what she’d written before! For example: Emily threw her jacket and heels out the window on her way out of town, but later wore her suit jacket with jeans! How can you have a secret ballroom with a stained glass window and not be able to see it from the outside? And if Emily had not been in hers and Charlotte’s room in 20 years, who took the boards off the windows? The huge storm: strong enough to make tree limbs fall and windows break, and barns collapse, but not strong enough to blow the blooms off the rose bushes? Not likely! And after such a storm, the ground would be saturated and muddy, yet they laid on the ground in the rose garden. Gnat bites for sure, but attention to details just makes the story more believable! All that said, I’m about to download Book 2!
  • Intriguing

A much different kind of book with all the mystery and intrigue. Most kids remember back to at least 7 or 8 years old and some earlier than that. But for whatever reason, Emily has trouble with some of her memories that finally start surfacing when she decides to stay in her parent’s summer home. Her relationship with Daniel was strained at first, but was moving along nicely along with the B & B plans. Ready to dive into book #2, but wish they weren’t all “cliff hangers”.
