What kind of ending is that?! Just as I was on the edge of my seat BOOM an excerpt from another book WHAT THE HELL? Is there a part 2?!

Each character tells their version of what happened. It starts slow and is written in a kind of child like style for one character and then in a grittier style for others. I don’t want to give too much away. The ending is stunning, if not a bit disappointing. Whatever you do, don’t watch the movie after you read it, because the movie does not follow the book.

While beginning as a fun sociological study of two mothers and the very different lives they lead, the story takes a twist and pulls the reader down a path of promising intrigue that speaks to the desire to find acceptance in a community, the willingness to overlook the obvious and ultimately the draw to betrayal. There was a lot potential for this to be a great story, but as the author began to reveal plot points, a trove of holes in the logic were uncovered that made the experience more frustrating than exciting.

The ending was a total let down.

Not recommended! The ending was terrible and the plot had large gaping holes while also being horribly predictable. Spark notes version will save you time and money if you’re still interested.

This book was a great read! I’d definitely recommend it and couldn’t wait to watch it on the big screen.

The author does a great job of taking you through the twisted plot. I spent two days emotionally invested in the characters but that slowly diminished toward the end. Literally no one had my vote and it was so disappointing. I was hoping for more closure and a better “big reveal”. Interesting psychological thriller.
